Governor Wike Calls A Traditional Ruller An Errands Boy: I know when I was in school, he was running around us, going on errands. Now he’s dressing Usman

River state Governor, Nyesom Wike was seen in a current trending video mocking a traditional ruler Wike talked down on the monarch during a quarterly meeting at the government house. The governor had asked the traditional rulers who had their staff of office to stand up, saying it’s disrespectful for them not to carry it around. “It’s not for you to take it (staff of office) and go and keep it in your bedroom or put it in your shrine, for those of you who worship at various shrines. “It’s for when you are coming out for official function, you come with it. That differentiates you from any other chief.” The monarchs responded by clapping but he interrupted them saying: ““Stop clapping. You are being selfish. Stop clapping. It’s the right thing to do. It’s not because of you because you won’t be there forever. It’s to protect the institution. So, don’t clap because you are there now.” He continued his remarks this time around calling out one of the traditional rulers: “Stop shaking your

The United Kingdom has launched a fresh bid to confiscate part of the £117 million worth of properties stolen by former governor of Delta state, James Ibori.

The United Kingdom has launched a fresh bid to confiscate part of the £117 million worth of properties stolen by former governor of Delta state, James Ibori. Recall that in 2012, a UK court sentenced Ibori who was governor from 1999 to 2007, to prison after convicting him of fraud and money laundering. The former governor ended his jail term in 2016 and returned to Nigeria in January 2017. While in jail, British prosecutors made an attempt to confiscate all his assets discovered to be proceeds of crime but failed as a result of unresolved legal issues. Subsequent attempts to seize the properties have failed due to some legal bottleneck. However, a report from Reuters states that a fresh process to confiscate the properties was re-launched in court today Thursday January 16th. A British prosecutor, Jonathan Kinnear, was said to have listed the assets the United Kingdom is seeking to seize from the former governor “and return to Nigerian public funds. Kinnear was quoted to have said the

FATHER MBAKA DID NOT HEAR FROM GOD

Abimbola Adelakun Abimbola Adelakun ( [email protected] ) Now that the Supreme Court has nullified the election of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State and declared the All Progressives Congress’ Hope Uzodinma the winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state, I owe it to readers of last week’s article to insist that God has nothing to do with the “prophets” that purportedly speak in his name. No God told Rev Fr Mbaka that Uzodinma would win at the court. More likely, this was what happened: To prepare the public for the electoral magic that would propel Uzodinma from his INEC-declared fourth position in the election to an eventual declaration of him as governor, Mbaka became a tool to “prophesy” it ahead of the day. The court judgment was not written on Tuesday morning; it must have been concluded weeks before the verdict was delivered, and a few privileged people must have had access to the information. They knew the outcome woul

Charly Boy reacts after Father Mbaka’s prophecy on Ihedioha came to pass

Charly Boy  has reacted after the Prophecy of Father Mbaka on Imo governor Emeka Ihedioha being sacked from his seat, came to pass yesterday. Days before the judgement, the Prophet had stated that the Supreme court was going to sack Ihedioha and install Hope Uzodinma as the new Governor. This prophecy has since become and hot topic on social media, and reacting to it, Charly Boy queried the authenticity of the Enugu-based Catholic priest’s prophecy, stating that prophecies by Nigerian men of God have always been suspicious. The veteran singer in his Instagram post, also wondered if Mbaka’s ‘prophecy’ on the ouster of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State was given by God or by “democratic coup-plotters” to prepare the minds of the people. He wrote on social media; Prophecies by Nigerian men of God are always suspicious. I even made a song, to be released soon, “God Of Men” So, im asking you my people whether Rev. Mbaka’s ‘prophecy’ on the ouster of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State w

Mbaka could be barred from preaching – Lagos Archbishop

Mbaka could be barred from preaching – Lagos Archbishop Published   January 16, 2020 Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Adewale Martins, says the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, could be banned from preaching if he continues to deviate from the doctrine and tenets of the Catholic Church. Martins who was appointed Archbishop of Lagos by the Pope in 2012, said this during an interview with BBC Igbo while reacting to Mbaka’s prophecy that Hope Uzodinma would emerge as governor of Imo State. Mbaka had on New Year’s Eve prophesied that Uzodinma would emerge as governor in 2020, a prophecy which came to pass on Tuesday when the Supreme Court sacked Emeka Ihedioha and named Uzodinma as the duly elected governor. Reacting to the prophecy which has stirred a heated debate, the archbishop said Mbaka is under the Diocese of Enugu and therefore does not report to him. He, however, said if Mbaka continues in the manner with which he
