The All Progressives Congress (APC), the governorship candidate in Bayelsa, David Lyon, is leading his contestant from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Duoye Diri by 434,473 votes in seven Local Governments in the results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The collation exercise is ongoing at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. From the results of seven of the eight Local Government Areas in the state collated so far on Sunday, the APC candidate won five LGAs while the PDP candidate won in two LGAs. The total number of votes garnered by Lyon in the six LGAs collated so far is 590,937 leading Diri who polled 156,464 from seven LGAs by over 434,473 votes. Two persons suspected to be involved in homosexual activities were on Friday rescued from an angry mob that nearly lynched them for what they described as “sinful and abominable act” The suspects, Tope Ajayi  and his younger male partner simply identified as Aliyu  were apprehended at Oke-Oko community in Ifo town, Ifo local government area of  Ogun state. DAILY POST gathered that the accident occurred when a truck with Registration number XG 624 DKA conveying diesel lost control and fell on another truck conveying goods heading towards the opposite direction causing its content to spill on the road.
