Hubby of musician Timi Dakolo- Mrs. Busola Dakolo, has bluntly denied the reports circulating in the media that an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari area of FCT fined her the whooping sum of N1million in her rape suit against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA). According to the celebrity photographer, the case was merely declared as “statute barred” and not as reported in the media.
The High Court ruling which was presided over by Justice A.O Musa opined that the reported case of rape by Mrs. Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo was filed at a wrong point in time. According to Justice A.O Musa, the events had taken place over 16 years ago, and thus there were no substantiated facts to collaborate the claims by the litigant. According to the law, the claimant, Mrs. Dakolo had only six years from the year of the happening to seek probable redress in court in accordance with the statute of limitation.
As against the insinuation by a section of the media, Mrs. Busola has said that no dime was demanded of her by the court. In counteraction, she has demanded through her lawyer Mr. Pelumi Olajengbesi in a letter addressed to Punch Newspapers for an apology from the culpable media organisations that reported the case otherwise.
The letter which read in parts: “We write in respect and reference to your online publication on the 14th day of Nov., 2019, with the caption “Sponsored; Court Throws Out Busola Dakolo’s Case Against Fatoyinbo” where in the said report you falsely stated, to wit: the Court also awarded cost of N1, 000, 000 against Busola Dakolo and held that the fine should have been 10 times more because the court’s time was wasted “.
