Nigerian Celebrities That Died In Fatal Car Crash (PHOTOS)

The state of most Nigerian roads is an eyesore compared to their counterparts around the world and despite the country being rich in mineral resources, we still have a long way to go in terms of infrastructures.

In 2018, during a period of 6 months, there was an estimated 2,598 deaths by road accidents and this figure shows that we have an average of 5000 deaths annually on Nigerian roads, one of the worst in the world.

Nigerian celebrities are not left out in these road accidents, and a number of our top star studded celebrities have lost their lives while on Nigerian roads. Here's a list of celebrities that have died from road accidents.

1. DaGrin

Nigerian rapper, Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin hailed from Ogun, Nigeria. He was popular for his indigenous style of rapping that took the Country by storm.

The rapper died on April 22nd, 2010 in a ghasty car accident when the car he was driving rammed into a parked truck. 

2. CD John

Popular comedian, CD John real names Chijioke De John was am popular celebrity who had risen to the pinnacle of his career and was getting shows from all around when he suddenly met his demise. 

The rising star which was dimmed prematurely died of serious injuries he sustained in an auto crash in the early morning of Thursday, March 24, 2011.

3. MC Loph

Vibrant musician cum Disc jockey, Nwaozo Obiajulu popularly known as MC Loph is another talented entertainer who rose to fame when he did the remix for Osadebe's hit single 'Osondi Owendi' which also became an instant hit.

The entertainer died in September 2011 when the car he was driving was involved in a ghastly accident on his way to his traditional wedding alongside his fiancée.

4. JT Tom West

Popular entertainer J.T. Tom West was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria as Joe Tamuno-Bibidamaa Tom-West. He was an actor, known for Laviva (2007), Otondo (2004) and Gangster Paradise (2001). 

He died on September 28, 2006 in Lagos, Nigeria in a ghastly motor accident that left many Nollywood fans in extreme shock and sadness. 

5. Henry Okoro

Popular Nollywood producer is the latest to die on this list as he died earlier this year. Henry Okoro died following injuries sustained in a fatal car accident.

He died in May 2019.

6. Ceejay Perez

Fast-rising Nollywood actor, Ceejay Perez is another entertainer that died in his prime. He was a promising actor who was well loved by Nollywood fans.

The actor died in a fatal motor accident yesterday around Onitsha in April 2016. 

7. Duke Oliver

Nollywood actor Linchung Duke Oliver, popularly known as Silvanus in the popular sitcom ‘Do Good' is another entertainer that was involved in an accident this year and sadly lost his life.

The actor died on the 2nd of April, 2019 while returning from his mother's burial in the village.

8. Chris Jeyibo

Chris Jeyibo was the Chairman of Koga Entertainment which has the following subsidiaries, Koga Xtra TV, Koga Studios, KICL Clothing, Koga Lounge, Koga Hall and Koga Records. Others are Koga Production, Koga Publishing, Koga Lounge and Koga Foundation. He was a very popular name in the entertainment circle.

He died in October 7, 2016 while riding his Range Rover automobile at the Magodo Axis of the Lagos-Ibadan express way. 

9. Chidinma Mbalaso

Chidinma Mbalaso was a reality star who rose to fame after she was featured in the Koko Mansion reality show which filmed in 2009.

Chidinma tragically lost her life in an auto accident in March 2011 after sustaining serious injuries while travelling in Kaduna.

10. Alasari

Actor Ahmed Alasari was a popular Yoruba Nollywood actor that is known for his fetish roles as herbalist in most yoruba movies.

The talented actor suddenly lost his life when he died tragically in an accident on the 21st of March, 2011. His widow also died in a fatal accident 5 years after he died.

Man Confessed- I Defiled My Two years Old Daughter Thinking She My Wife

One Iniobong Okon Moses of Ikot Amupe Obio Offot, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State who allegedly defiled his two-year-old step daughter said he committed the act thinking that it was with his wife. Iniobong revealed this when he was paraded in the police command headquarters, Ikot-Akpanabia alongside other suspects allegedly involved in incest and rape. The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Odiko Macdon, while briefing the press on Friday over the activities of sexual predators in the state said Iniobong forcefully defiled the two year old while carrying her on his laps. Macdon noted that the forceful penetration caused the victim to sustain serious injuries, which made her bled profusely, adding that the girl has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
