HomeRelationship 106 & 105 YEARS OLD: World Oldest Couple without children, set to celebrate 80th anniversary Jidechi 0 December 16, 2019 5:24 pm 106-year old John Henderson and 105-year old Charlotte Curtis are reportedly said to be preparing to celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary on December 22, 2019 since their wedding in 1939. The couple is recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records as the World’s Oldest Couple. They are said to have known each other for 85 years after sitting in a zoology class in 1934. John and Charlotte have been married for 80 years now, which means the Guinness World Records record for the World Longest Marriage still belongs to Zelmyra and Herbert Fisher, who wedded at the ages of 17 and 19, and were married for 86 years and 290 days before Herbert’s death in 2011. READ ALSO: Linda Ikeji's baby sister, Sandra set to get married to hearthrob “It took her five years to make up her mind that she wanted to get married,” John Henderson said while speaking to Washington post on Sunday. “And I well-remember that long antenna. They had to put it up from the front yard to the backyard to receive a radio show,” he added recalling the first time he got a radio. John and Charlotte married in a tiny ceremony with only two guests present on Dec. 22, 1939 and during their honeymoon in San Antonio, they stayed at a hotel that cost $7 a night. You can imagine today a cow and chicken house across the street from Gregory, where the campus is so large now you wouldn’t recognize hardly anything,” John said.
