What I stand for, is protecting my intellectual property “- TicTac on sueing Wizkid for $82,000

TicTac, a.k.a King Slayer, has explained to Ghanaians that his idea of suing Nigerian superstar, Wizkid, was not for monetary gains but for the protection of his intellectual property.

Over the years, TicTac has sued many people who tried to rip him off his ” intellectual property “. The biggest was Melcom. The company used his image to sell their product without his concern, neither was there a contract.

He won the case and was compensated with GHC 300, 000 which the court ordered Melcom to pay Tic.

Tic’s latest victim is Nigeria’s very own Wizkid. He’s suing star boy wizzy for what he claims ” stealing his fɛɛfɛ na ɛfɛ ” song which he sang with Tony Tetuila and again, wizkid feeling reluctant to reason with him on the issue.

Tic’s decision led him to be labeled an attention seeker who wants to trend and a loser trying to feed on Wizkid.

In a recent interview, he said:

“I don’t feel good about trends. I feel good about what I stand for, and what I stand for is protecting my intellectual property as well as protecting what is me. If doing that will make you trend, so be it! I like the fact that I’m trending but I don’t like it that I may sue somebody before I trend,”

He added:

“It’s something that musicians wouldn’t like to really do. It’s something that may let you lose some fans and may let you gain some fans. It’s a 50/50 thing. It’s not something that you wake and say you’d wanna do. But when it gets to the point that you have to do it, then you obviously have to do it,”

A woman was stunned when she discovered that her ex-boyfriend who she was told had died was working in a restaurant she visited. The girlfriend, called Rachel, and boyfriend, who won't be named for legal reasons, were 18 and 21 respectively when they started dating. A few months into their relationship, he returned home from a night out with a broken hand which prevented him from working as a chef in a local pub. He asked Rachel to borrow him $1,000 AUD (£530/$680 USD) to make ends meet. Some time later, the pair split and she was given $300 (£159/$204 USD) back before her now ex-boyfriend went off the radar. The woman was told her ex-boyfriend had been murdered (stock image).
