Former President Goodluck Jonathan hosted two governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his residence in Otuoke, Bayelsa state, on Sunday. They are Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi. Badaru is the chairman of the APC campaign council for the Bayelsa governorship election, while Bagudu is also on the campaign. The All Progressives Congress (APC), the governorship candidate in Bayelsa, David Lyon, is leading his contestant from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Duoye Diri by 434,473 votes in seven Local Governments in the results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The collation exercise is ongoing at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. From the results of seven of the eight Local Government Areas in the state collated so far on Sunday, the APC candidate won five LGAs while the PDP candidate won in two LGAs.
