AceShowbiz - There's a chance that people have to choose between Akon and Kanye West during the presidential election in 2024. The "Don't Matter" rapper recently stopped by "The Real" and talked about possibly running for president in the coming years.

When asked about the issue in the Monday, November 18 episode of the show, Akon said, "That might be possible," before adding, "I know what the issues are, and as a person, as an immigrant, as a black man, as whatever you want to call it. I kind of know or feel like I know that I can take the country and move it forward." He then talked about how he is currently advising 30 African presidents and how it is based on the development of the youth.

That was when Kanye's name was brought up, as the hip-hop mogul had also previously said that he planned to run for president in 2024. But when he was asked whether or not he could beat Kanye in the presidential run, Akon showed no signs of competition. "Well I don't think it would be a competition, I honestly need him to run," he said.

Explaining the reason, the "Smack That" rapper went on saying, "Kanye is not crazy, he's just awakened. From a spiritual state, I just feel like he's awake now. Now he's the most amazing marketer in the world. He understands his audience, but he's definitely not crazy, he knows what he's doing. My thing is, if he does run, it's great for the culture. Now if you think he's not fit, that's another thing, that's why you got me as another choice."

Akon had been talking about how he considered to run for president since last year, saying that he was ready to run for president in 2020. However, all bets were off after he realized he wouldn't be able to do his music. Meanwhile, Kanye announced his plans for 2024 presidential run in September last year.
