It has emerged Mourinho will earn almost double the wage of his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino after taking charge at the north London club on Wednesday morning.

This is the first time in Tottenham's history that they have appointed a manager of Mourinho's pedigree - he has won 25 trophies in his managerial career - and it seems they have paid a hefty price.

According to Tuttomercato, Mourinho's £15m-a-year salary sees him jump straight into the list of the game's highest earners at number two.

He still trails nemesis Pep Guardiola though with the Manchester City boss signing a new two-year contract in 2018 worth £20m per season.

The Spaniard is the best paid boss in world football but has proven to be worth every penny after winning back-to-back Premier League titles at the Etihad.

Below Mourinho in third place is Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone. The fiery Argentine has been in charge of the Spanish giants since 2011, winning La Liga in 2013-14 and taking the club to two Champions League finals.

Simeone earns a cool £13m-a-year and has a contract with Atletico until 2022.

China is renowned for paying big wages and it is no surprise two of the top five highest earning managers come from there.

Rafa Benitez takes home £11.5m per season with Dalian Yifang after joining when he left Newcastle over the summer while Italian legend Fabio Cannavaro earns £10m-a-year for his work with Guangzhou Evergrande.

Zinedine Zidane shares fifth place with Cannavaro. The Real Madrid boss made a sensational return to the Bernabeu towards the end of last season and managed to negotiate a £10m-a-year salary.

Antonio Conte comes next with his £9m per season salary at Inter Milan. The Italian returned to his homeland over the summer and has started extremely well. His side sit just one point behind Juventus after 12 matches.

The rest of the top 10 is made up with three European heavyweights. Paris Saint-Germain's Thomas Tuchel is paid £8m per season as he looks to finally end the club's woes in the Champions League.

Ernesto Valverde may be surprised to see he is paid £2m less than rival Zidane, given he has been the more successful of the two in recent seasons. The Barcelona boss takes home £8m-a-season for managing Lionel Messi and Co.

The top 10 is then completed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. His side's rise to the top of European and domestic football has been sensational and some would argue he is worth more than the £7m-a-year salary he earns at Anfield.

N28million Worth Of Marijuana Seized By NDLEA In Ondo The Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Tuesday said it had seized a total of 14.3 tonnes of Indian hemp in the state.
