Kanye’s journey into Christianity is one of the most controversial topics ever. The man has a questionable history that makes one wonder if he is indeed an anti-christ as presumed. Or if he has truly turned a leaf. His current activities might indicate that he is a Christian, but looking at his past actions, they debunk who he represents now. The 42-year-old rapper hasn’t had it easy in recent years, which resulted in a downtime of his career to focus on his mental health. Thankfully, the Kanye we all adore came back into the music scene bigger and better. The singer found salvation, and it is in Jesus Christ.
Since his comeback, Kanye has dedicated every Sunday to Jesus and never missed one Sunday Service with his family, including his wife, Kim Kardashian, and their bundles of joy. Even though several believers assumed that his new faith was merely a scheme to revive his career, Kanye’s persistence says otherwise. Also, his latest album, “Jesus Is King,” which features eleven tracks spreading the Gospel of the Messiah. Sincerely, this recently-converted Kanye is a breath of fresh air compared to who he used to be. Do you recall the “I Am A God” Kanye or worse, the “Yeezus” Kanye? The talented rapper has shown off his musical prowess on several tracks in which he contradicted or disrespected God. Let me take you down memory lane of the different versions of Kanye we saw in the past:
The “I Am A God” Kanye
In 2013, he stated in this song that although Jesus is the Most High, he is close to God’s position. However, he did claim that he won’t give up on God towards the end of the track.
The “Jesus Walks” Kanye
The music genius revealed that he was advised against rapping about Christianity in his songs so that he can top charts. The rapper neglected the advice and talked about Jesus in the song. Contrary to the opinion, the song did well.
The “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” Kanye
It was evident in this track that Kanye was struggling with either being a devoted Christian or live an exuberant life.
The “Yeezus” Kanye
Yeezus is a nickname Kanye gave himself, which is an obvious mockery of the savior, Jesus Christ.
Back to the present, it is difficult to believe that the same Kanye we used to know is now a religious fanatic. He doesn’t miss a Sunday Service, where he continually performs Gospel songs with his band. He attends with his family, his wife, and their kids, six-year-old North, three-year-old Saint, and a year-old Chicago.
The Grammy award-winning artist recently surprised inmates at the Harris County jail in Houston, Texas. Kanye and his band included the prison on the tour of his latest album, “Jesus is King.” The performance was an emotional one that left the prisoners on their knees and in tears.
Despite the reformed Kanye, some netizens still think it is all a ploy. However, what do you think? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below. Also, please share this with your friends, so we can openly discuss it.
