Kanye West, US rapper and gospel singer, has taken his religious performance to the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas, where inmates were blessed with performance from his ‘Jesus is King’ album.
The 42-year-old Golddigger’ singer’s performance on Friday, is coming days before he was set to bring the show to Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston, Texas — where he’ll have a morning conversation about faith followed by an evening performance with his choir.
Ed Gonzalez, Harry County sheriff, took to his Twitter page to appreciate the rapper for the visit.
“@kanyewest visited us today. I know he has a busy weekend in H-Town surrounding his visit to @lakewoodchurch, so appreciate him and his choir spending time with us,” he wrote.
“This is a mission, not a show.”

Say what you want about the man. But @kanyewest and his choir brought some light to people who needed it today at the Harris County Jail.
It is believed that West and his choir performed for more than 200 male inmates at one jail facility before crossing the street to another jail facility to thrill a smaller crowd of female inmates.
Following the release of ‘Jesus is King‘ album, West had indicated his interest to run for president in 2024.
He also said that he may legally change his name to “Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West.”
