Seven Persons Die In Osun Auto Crash

Tragedy struck on Saturday in Ikirun of Ifelodun local government area of Osun State when seven people lost their lives in an auto crash involving an articulated vehicle and a commercial bus.

Eyewitnesses informed Tribune Online that the accident occurred around Alamisi junction, near Steel Rolling, Ikirun at about 7:40 am.

Our correspondent authoritatively gathered that vehicles involved in the auto crash included a Mack truck marked FST 597 XY and a black Mitsubishi space wagon with registration number JJJ 59 CJ.

According to one of the witnesses, out of the seven persons that lost their lives in the accident, five of them were males, while two were females, just as one person sustained critical injuries.

Items recovered at the scene of the crash included two sets of shoes, handbag, two ATM cards, a sum of N7,800 and three mobile phones.

When contacted, the Osun State sector commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Peter Oke confirmed the incident, disclosing that the auto crash was caused by lack of concentration.

He, however, hinted that the injured victim had been taken to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the hospital.
