TYSON FURY HAS REVEALED TO EXPRESS SPORT THAT HE THREATHREATENS HIS PRACTISE PERTNERS TO ENSURE THE CUT TO HIS EYE DOES NOT SUFFER FURTHER DAMAGE
Tyson Fury has revealed to Express Sport that he threatens practise partners to ensure the cut to his eye does not suffer further damage.
Tyson Fury threatened his practise partners to ensure his cut above his left eye does not reopen.
The Gypsy King needed 47 stitches to repair a nasty gash inflicted during his boxing win over Otto Wallin last month.
The damage is still very much evident and medical experts have warned the 31-year-old not to return to action just yet.
But Fury is set to make his WWE debut against Braun Strowman at WWE’s Crown Jewel on Thursday.
So to ensure his eye remains in tact he has taken the unorthodox approach to protection,
“It is okay, it is getting better,” Fury told Express Sport.
“For sure [I have been extra cautious]. It needs 100 days to recover and I have only had 45.
“I just tell them ‘If you cut the eye I will cut you with a punch in the face’.
“I have been practising with all their guys down at the WWE, all the coaches, the wrestling staff and everybody.
“It is good fun. I think everything is good fun when you start isn’t it.
“It’s when it becomes your job and repetitive and the same thing day in and day out, you have to do this and have to do that, it doesn’t become fun any more.”
Although Fury has his training partners on their toes, Strowman has not been taking the warning on board.
Last week the Monster Among Men stormed the ring and appeared to injure Fury’s ankle during practice.
However, Fury has confirmed to Express Sport he expects to be fully fit for the Saudi Arabia showdown.
“The ankle is alright,” Fury added.
“It will take a bit of time to get back to where it was but it seems to be doing alright now.”
